  • how is the life in manhattan, long island, brooklyn?

Posted by admin on January 14th, 2009 and filed under san diego junior college | 1 Comment »

I've just come to NY, and Im staying in manhattan. I live in San Diego, CA. and im 19. so obviously those guys who live in san diego know what Im talking about, its a nice city but its good just when you got your own family and I wanna be in crowded city and be with people, and thats what I've seen in NY. but the problem is I don't know what to do? I don't know anybody over here, I also go to a Junior College in san digeo and I have one more year left or two sems. I've researched about JC's in NY which some of are really good but the only problem that I have is maybe I should move here next year when I finished my JC and then transfer to NY. actually I don't have any friends in San Diego anway, so im not worried about that but my entire family live there. my parents say that its better if I stay one more year in SD and then transfer, everything is expensive and also JC's don't have any dormetories so I either have to rent some where or get a rooma… what would you do if you were me?

I would listen to my family's advice and complete my JC. After that, it'll be your decision whether to go to NYC or any other place or just stay in SD. There are prioities in life, and I believe that finishing your JC is a must.

    Good luck!

Is Cal State Channel Islands a good college.?

Posted by admin on January 12th, 2009 and filed under san diego junior college | 2 Comments »

I live in Southern California and CSUCI looks like a good school to me. I'm looking to major in business and looking for a smaller school rather then a large campus like San Diego State. I am in junior college right now and am almost done. I am looking to transfer in fall of 09. Is it hard to get in and also are the dorms hard to get into because I really want to be in the dorms. Also is it social there since JC has very little socializing which has made JC very boring. Are there any other non-private small colleges in the So Cal area that might be worth looking at also?Thank you for any help you can give.
I don't really care if the business school is all that good. I am more interested in the social aspects. I don't plan on getting a masters or going into an wall street style job. I just want classes to teach me management, budgeting and dealing with employees so I can some experiance on the business side when I open an automotive tuner/custom shop

Have you looked into Cal State Monterey Bay? They have a small student body, guaranteed classes, and on campus housing. Plus, Monterey is gorgeous!!!

My friend transferred to CSUCI last year. She liked it. It is very new, but I think it is a decent choice, despite its new-ness. Check for AASCB.

CSU Dominguez isn't really in a good area of town, but the school is fine. CSU Stanislaus is in Turlock. The area is not one I'd like, but again, the school is fine.

If you don't mind moving farther away, Humboldt State is a much more intimate setting, smaller school, with great social life. I have seen their videos on their webside made by HSU students and you can tell they totally love it there. HSU is right by the ocean too.

Chico State is also smaller and more intimate. A big social scene there.

Hey good luck! I hope you enjoy wherever you go.

How good of a college is San Diego State University?

Posted by admin on January 8th, 2009 and filed under san diego junior college | 4 Comments »

It's my junior year in high school and I've been thinking about going to college out of state. My uncle asked me last year if I would be interested in going to college in San Diego and all I would have to do is give him the word and he would pay my way through. I would just have to work for him in Car Detailing business for the four years I'm in college. After that, I want to- feh, you don't want to hear what I want to do with my life…

Having lived in SD let me say it's a top notch party school!
UCSD is the premier public university there, followed by the Jesuit USD. SDSU is a very, very big school and has plenty of local, SoCal, and out of state students. I'd say it's average reputation wise. A degree from there won't knock anybody's socks off, but neither does a bachelor's degree nowadays anyway. Have fun!
