Pretty much the same.

O levels is the exam we take at 16 year old after 4 years of secondary education, N levels is for slower students who take 5 years to study the same thing.

other than local unis, private unis and overseas.
heh lol i am most definitely a Singaporean
I would love to enter local unis, but I am just exploring my options just in case a levels turn out really sucky. What happens to students who don't have a decent a levels cert? im a female by the way, so i dont have the luxury of trying for two more years.
If you feel you are ready you can go to work, but follow your heart, it's better to go for further studies probably local uni like National Technologic University (NTU) or National University of Singapore (NUS), most students after JC will go there for further studies if you are more ambitious enough you can go overseas to get a better certificate.

I have a few questions; this is for those familiar with the education system in India AND Singapore.
I’m in 11th standard studying in India in India’s no. 1 school (2008 survey). This school provides me with plenty of extracurricular activities, but my involvement in them is slightly limited due to the copious amounts of time I have to study for IIT JEE coaching.
So I applied for the SIA Youth Scholarship, and chances are I’ll get it. According to this scholarship, I get 2 years of free education in a Junior College in Singapore, after which I get near-guaranteed admission to a Singapore university like NUS or NTU.
So my question is this:
Should I stay in India, and take the JEE and the BITSAT and AIEEE and everything, and give IIT a shot? The problem is I might not get into IIT, and then I’ll have to make do with BITS. And BITS isn’t anywhere near NUS or NTU in the global rankings.
Or I could go to Singapore and go to NSU or NTU and nullify my chances of getting into IIT?
(Chances of getting into IIT are s.l.i.m anyway)
And finally, where would the chances of getting admission into a US university be better:
Singapore: Where there are less extracurricular activities, but more time is saved due to lack of IIT coaching
or India: More extracurricular activities, less involvement due to time spent in coaching.
Thanks in advance!!
No, no you misunderstand. The SIA scholarship program gives you a scholarship to study for 2 years in a PRE-UNIVERSITY course (11th and 12th). And THEN you go to college.
Firstly, you might want to see if the SIA Youth Scholarship is for a degree program or for a diploma program. Whats the total time taken to get an undergraduate degree in Engineering? Is it shorter in India or Singapore? Singapore universities will give you and edge when applying to US universities, but that alone doesn’t not count. Your GRE scores are what matters most when making out a college application. If you re planning to do a Masters’, then does it really matter where you did your Bachelors’?

I have a question for math text-books in Singapore.
I got these books from a Singapore web site and I want to know these books are used in common for junior college in Singapore:
1. Core Maths For GCE A Level
2. Further Pure Maths For GCE A Level
3. Math – The Core Course For GCE A Level
4. Maths – Mechanics And Probability For GCE A Level
5. Pure Maths For GCE A Level Book 1
6. Pure Maths For GCE A Level Book 2
7. GCE A Level Further Mathematics Past Years' Exam Papers' Questions And Solutions Manual
8. GCE A Level Mathematics Past Years' Exam Papers' Questions And Solutions Manual
If students use other books in common, please list them for me.
Thanks =)
Hmm, in general for most colleges in Singapore, textbooks are not compulsory. We have lecture notes instead.
These books are for your own reference and as long as it has GCE A Level (and editions that aren't too old), then it should be ok to use them.
You can try getting books from school bookshop itself and they will most likely recommend the most popular book among the student.
