I want an HP Pavilion tx2000z. Most of my friends have a MacBook and I want to be different.
Any suggestions on what laptop I should get? Preferably not a Mac. Thanks
things to consider:
- I am a college junior and turning 18 this week. I'm a dean's lister and my parents promised me a good birthday gift, so price isnt a big deal.
- I will bring it to school so it has to be light (less than 5 pounds)
- It has to have an internal DVD drive, camera and mic
in this case I would get a HP business laptop because you can get xp installed on will not have to put up vista. and hp's business laptops are the best builted. three year warrenty. We use them at work because they last and are light.

take your pick.

I am a junior this year; weighed GPA 4.96 out of 6; ranked 27 out of 1180 students or top 2%; will be joining national honor society in the spring semester as well as the Spanish NHS; In HOSA organization; will be doing a high school internship at a local hospital where I will be participating in clinical rotations with different doctors next semester and all of my senior year; have all honors, AP, and dual credit classes; have taken a few college classes at the local community college; have some community service hours but not an extraordinary amount; don't do much extracurrical activities because I mainly focus on the classes I have. So..what may be my chances to get in the honors program for biology at UT in Austin?
As Final Paradox says, it will depend upon the number of students admitted to the program, how many others apply this year, and what their qualifications are. I'm a little concerned about your class rank, because if I were looking at your application, I would think, okay, the first one or two from that school would apply to Ivies or other elite schools, the next one or two may be going for a different major, but if (s)he isn't even in the top 20? Yes, your record could definitely get you into UT Austin, but I wouldn't swear to the Honors Program. The exception would be if you went to a particularly strong private high school, where it was assumed that many more of the students would go to elite schools.

Does being related to the Dean of Admissions of a university help my chances of being accepted? I am a junior in high school. I have a 3.3 GPA (88).I take AP U.S. History, English Honors, Chemistry Honors, and Math III B. I play football and track.I haven't taken the SAT yet but plan to take it soon.
As long as you have a good relationship between him in the family then your set unless you forget to write your name on the SAT and flunk.

I’ve been told that things such as Heroin, Coke, Meth (worst crap ever), that you feel like you are going to die, but you don’t actually die.
Can you die from coming off Benzo’s cold turkey? I had to go to the emergency room last night because my MD has the flu, and I have taken 30 mg of Valium for 6 months since I slit my wrists and needed 52 stitches.
I have enough to last me through the weekend. I don’t care if my psychiatrist will get made that I visted the emergency room. He is retiring soon, and I don’t care, and am looking for a more concerned counselor.
I have public speaking this next semester. After that I would like to ween myself slowly off of Valium. But I don’t want to lay in bed for a weekend having terrible with drawls.
This is a sad situation I am in. I’m an extreme introvert, and the only drug I want to continue is Ultram, which is non narcodic. It helps my back.
I’m on the Dean’s list at my college, I lost my job but have applied at many places, and am going to get my resume fixed today.
Any advice? I am not wanting to become a legal drug addict. I want to get mentally healthy, and be able to eventually help others.
I’m a junior in college with a good GPA. I have goals, ambitions. But I can’t get over my troubled childhood. Being abandoned by my real parents sucked. My adopted mother has been my savior. I’m also labeled Borderline Personality Disorder. I have a lot of aniexty, and when I get depressed everyone around me gets depressed. I have that gift.
Seizures are possible. Any doctor can provide a prescription for valium, and I address weaning off in section 2, at ezy build, below: also see the relevant parts of section 1.
BPD is addressed in section 15, at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris Be aware that, because of their upbringing, people suffering from BPD tend to see things in terms of black and white, rather than shades of grey, and often idealise, then devalue, in relationships. They also tend to have a great fear of abandonment, and sometimes go to extreme lengths to prevent it.
Use the locators, in section 1, at ezy build, and the phone book, to find a therapist who uses Dialectical Behavio(u)ral Therapy, or get a good book on the subject, and give to a therapist using Cognitive Behavio(u)ral Therapy (fairly common, and probably nearby) and ask that it be incorporated into your treatment. Read “I hate you: don’t leave me.” by Jerold J. Kreisman, m.d. and Hal Stras. A workbook that offers good coping skills is Marsha Linehan’s Skills Training Manual (a DBT Workbook). Try http://www.amazon.com/ for these.
Anxiety: section 6: see page N first. Depression: section 2: view page R first. Public speaking: section 9. Check out teens, in section 13; self harm: section 16, & suicidal thoughts: section 5: contact the hotlines, when needed.

I think it was Don Haskins.
No man did more than him with less. Not Bob Knight, John Wooden, Dean Smith or Coach K.
They all had unbelibible recruiting bases. He was in El Paso, TX. He never had an All-American with the exception of Jim Barnes who was a Junior College All-American in 1963 I think.
Bob Knight. He doesn’t even compare to him. Don haskins, the composure he had. How he kept himself cool.
Back when he was UTEP was playing Wyoming, some fan got a paper cup and wraped ice around in the paper cup, threw it down at him and just as he turned around it struck him in the eye, giving him a black eye. he did not retaliate, he didn’t even look back up at the man. That’s how tough he was. The courage it took to start 5 blacks in a championship game, he didn’t see anything wrong.
He was an unbelible human being.
I’ll tell a few stories about him:
Well, one time he was out hunting outside of El Paso as he comes upon a Mexican family broke down. he goes over and asks what’s wrong. They tell him that their veihicle has broke down, and their trying to get to LA. He has their truck towed, puts them in a hotel, fills the truck up, gives them $5,000 and send them on their way. He didn’t even tell his wife about this! Nobody. He told nobody. The man did it out of kindness.
Another one, This time a funny one:
Tim Floyd, who is now the coach of the USC Trojans (Formerly with the Chicago Bulls & New Orleans Hornets) was Don’s assistant back in the 80’s. Well, Tim goes to Don to tell him that he has been offered a job:
“Coach, I’m sorry but my time here is done. I got another job.”
Don, “Who the hell would hire you?”
Tim, “Coach —— over at ——”
Don “How much they payin you?”
Tim “$30,000″
Don “Dam, I’ll give you 15,000 you stay here?”
Tim “Well, I don’t know, Beverly and I just got married and I think I’m gonna have to talk it out with her and-”
Don “Oh my god, you gotta go ask your wife?! Jeez man, he’s gotta ask his wife??”
Lol, you would only get the last one if you knew him….
What are your opinions?
Dean Smith. I saw a lot of great answers, but I like Dean the best. His players graduated. Those that went to the NBA did exceptionally well. He had a lasting effect on the game. The shot clock was implemented because of his strategy of the four corners offense. When he retired, he was the winningest coach in men’s D1 history.
