  • What kind of scholarships can I get with my grades?

Posted by admin on January 14th, 2009 and filed under arizona junior college | 1 Comment »

I am a junior with a 4.3 weighted GPA and a 3.8 unweighted GPA. I run cross country and track, am a member of the speech and debate team. I am also a member of my school's ebony and history club. I take many honors, AP coureses, and am even enrolled in a program that allows me to get college credit at the local community college. What type of Universities should I consider? I live in Arizona

I am not sure as to what universities are in Arizona, but if you have all of those things on your "resume," then you should have no problem getting accepted into any university. Scholarships and grants will really depend on your income since you have the high GPA, honors and AP classes, etc.

Live at home with your parents until you are accepted to the school of your choice. Good luck!

do I have a chance at college?

Posted by admin on January 8th, 2009 and filed under arizona junior college | 8 Comments »

hey people, I'm going to be a senior in high skool and my junior year sucked. I will definitely do way better this year, but still…..

my SAT score is ok 1560 (M600 R460 W500) and I did jv wrestling freshman year and this year I'll do philosiphy club, art club, and rugby.

I also have ALOT of talents:

*I can play violin, viola, cello, base, both types of guitars, piano, drums, and xylophone

*I speak english(duh), german, some french, spanish, japanese, and bengali

    * I can draw really really well.

with this can I get into a decent college hopefully with the majors: mechanical engineering, environmental engineering, or police science?

I've looked at arizona state, oregon state, and auburn university so far.

    u think I have a chance?

Yes. You are multi-talented! I highly recommend you look into getting a music scholarship at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, AZ. It is a small college, in a beautiful mountain setting, and has both a university and symphony orchestra. I attended college there on a music scholarship and loved it! It was one of the best times in my life.

You may be eligible for music scholarships at other universities as well. Your definitely on the right track. Keep up the good work and you will be successful in college and life.

    Best wishes.

Should I leave my dream college to go back home to my boyfriend of a year and a half…?

Posted by admin on January 6th, 2009 and filed under arizona junior college | 9 Comments »

My junior year of high school, Arizona State University was my dream college. I’m from Cleveland, Ohio, where the weather is questionable, and it snows and easily reaches below zero during the winter. The summer before my senior year I met a guy who I had previously ignored for six months due to a three year age difference. I was 17 at the time and he was 20. Then, that summer, I began to talk to him. We started dating and have been for a year and a half. He’s been the upmost perfect boyfriend to me I could ever dream of, yet I still decided to go to ASU to chase down my dream but still date him. Question is, was it the right decision. We’re still together, and as many guys as I continue to meet, he still seems to be the best for me. Should I go back home after my freshman year? It’s a sacrifice, but it could be worth it. I just don’t know…
If I went home, I would still go to college. Just not ASU, obviously. Ha.

Stay in ASU. If he is your dream guy and is the one for you, then you two will be together even if you go to school in Africa. So pursue your dreams, solidify your future, then you two can be happy together. Stay and finish school in Arizona. There’s no harm in having the best of both world. If he doesn’t support you, then he’s not right for you and is not good enough for you.

If he is the one for you, then he will still be there when you are done with school. This is not just for your future, it is for his future too. Once you graduate from ASU and get a good job, you will be making money to support the both of you, so this brings happiness for you both. School is important, and he will understand that. You will be a much happier person once you’ve realized that you can have the best of both worlds.
