I want an HP Pavilion tx2000z. Most of my friends have a MacBook and I want to be different.
Any suggestions on what laptop I should get? Preferably not a Mac. Thanks
things to consider:
- I am a college junior and turning 18 this week. I'm a dean's lister and my parents promised me a good birthday gift, so price isnt a big deal.
- I will bring it to school so it has to be light (less than 5 pounds)
- It has to have an internal DVD drive, camera and mic
in this case I would get a HP business laptop because you can get xp installed on will not have to put up vista. and hp's business laptops are the best builted. three year warrenty. We use them at work because they last and are light.

take your pick.

Do you think I will be able to get into unc chapel hill? i really want to go there? I am worried about how expensive the school is though since I do not live in North Carolina. Do you think I would have a chance to get any scholarships since I do not think I will get financial aid.

I think you have a great chance, and you may want to apply to Duke or Emory. You can do better, but if that's what you want do it! Happy New Year!

at my local Junior College or just wait 'till spring semester. I'm 16 and I just completed High School. I was planning on taking classes at our local community college, but now we have this unexpected and kinda long trip. So, do you think I should take some online classes or just wait until the next semester?
I would wait. If you are sixteen and just completed high school, you'll want to go to a better place than a community college, and for that you'll be waiting until next fall.
Most schools in Hawaii start school next week, so there won't be many teenagers out and about until about 2 PM while you're here. But if you're a self-directed learner, and I'm assuming you are, you'll learn more in two months in Hawaii, just leaving the house every day to see what is to be seen, than you will in any class, online or otherwise. Hawaii is a unique place, and you have a special opportunity. Make the most of it!
For maximum learning, I'd want to put you in a position where you build a little bit of a relationship with local people. I don't know about getting a job for two months, but I bet you could find a part-time volunteer opportunity and learn a great deal from that.

I've just come to NY, and Im staying in manhattan. I live in San Diego, CA. and im 19. so obviously those guys who live in san diego know what Im talking about, its a nice city but its good just when you got your own family and I wanna be in crowded city and be with people, and thats what I've seen in NY. but the problem is I don't know what to do? I don't know anybody over here, I also go to a Junior College in san digeo and I have one more year left or two sems. I've researched about JC's in NY which some of are really good but the only problem that I have is maybe I should move here next year when I finished my JC and then transfer to NY. actually I don't have any friends in San Diego anway, so im not worried about that but my entire family live there. my parents say that its better if I stay one more year in SD and then transfer, everything is expensive and also JC's don't have any dormetories so I either have to rent some where or get a rooma… what would you do if you were me?
I would listen to my family's advice and complete my JC. After that, it'll be your decision whether to go to NYC or any other place or just stay in SD. There are prioities in life, and I believe that finishing your JC is a must.
Good luck!

I am a junior with a 4.3 weighted GPA and a 3.8 unweighted GPA. I run cross country and track, am a member of the speech and debate team. I am also a member of my school's ebony and history club. I take many honors, AP coureses, and am even enrolled in a program that allows me to get college credit at the local community college. What type of Universities should I consider? I live in Arizona
I am not sure as to what universities are in Arizona, but if you have all of those things on your "resume," then you should have no problem getting accepted into any university. Scholarships and grants will really depend on your income since you have the high GPA, honors and AP classes, etc.
Live at home with your parents until you are accepted to the school of your choice. Good luck!
