  • What extra classes should I take online in addition to normal high school in order to graduate as a junior?

Posted by admin on December 31st, 2008 and filed under junior college online | 3 Comments »

My school only has an ONLINE option through BYU in order to graduate as a junior. To do this, i have to sign up for extra classes if i want to graduate high school junior year. I ALSO want to have enough credits so i can get into a nice college also. What extra classes should I take online in addition to my three years of public high school?

The Internet is a wonderful invention. If you take your subject of your question and add to what you want to know about it, the search engine will do the rest. For example:

My subject is Primary and Secondary Education. I want to know where to get certified as a teacher.

The search engine result is as follows:

    Teaching + state certification requirements

What you get is this: http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=Teachin…

This will work for any subject category. Give it a try and good luck

    apartment renting in San Diego?

Posted by admin on December 31st, 2008 and filed under san diego junior college | 2 Comments »

can someone please tell me what are the safe neighborhoods in San Diego? Im moving down there to go to school and want to rent an apartment in a safe area close to everything ( ie. junior colleges, SDSU, and shopping centers)

If you're young and want to be around other people in their 20's 30's, head for the beach communities, Pacific Beach, Mission Beach, and Ocean Beach are all very popular places to live and are all very near the 8… which is your straight shot to SDSU.

I live in PB and it's so much fun. I run on the beach everyday, walk home from the bars at night and ride my bike to the grocery store. I love it. It's the ultimate "San Diego Lifestyle" experience.

What are the pros and cons of going to these colleges?

Posted by admin on December 31st, 2008 and filed under arizona junior college | 3 Comments »

I am a High School Junior continuing my search to find the "right" college for me. I want to be a High School Teacher, so I have been looking at the University of Arizona and Arizona State University. I have already researched both colleges a lot during my spare time and so far I like Arizona State better. I am not really a party person, so I don't know if I will fit in at either of these colleges. Please help me find a grasp of this whole college search. Thank you.

They're both respected academic institutions that are large enough to have both lots of partiers and lots of more studious students.

University is what you make of it – and at a large university, it is not difficult to find your niche if you put the time into exploring extracurriculars you really personally enjoy. I think you will be fine at either school, and I suggest you visit each to see where you feel more comfortable and happiest.

(I'll throw in that Phoenix is a lot more interesting metro area than Tucson with more professional opportunities; U of A is a higher ranked school, but ASU's education school is very well respected. I really don't think you'll go wrong with either.)

Do you think i could get into university of illinois?

Posted by admin on December 31st, 2008 and filed under illinois junior college | 3 Comments »

I am a Junior at high school now, i take all entry level classes and am a little far behind in math. freshman year and sophomore year i had a gpa of around 3.5 out of 5, this year i am working hard and have a gps of 4.2 out of 5 and am in 2 extracurricular activities along with a church youth group and being an eagle scout. if i work my butt off in junior college for 2 years do you think i can get into U of I to study art?

    Yea.

I think the most important part of most college applications, is showing a passion in an extracirricular (prefferably outside your field of choice.) And church seems to not be related to art, so I'd say you have a good shot.

    Go ahead and apply!

Can you explain the college application process to me?

Posted by admin on December 31st, 2008 and filed under columbia junior college | 1 Comment »

When should I start my applications?
I’m currently a junior, and I’m interested in NYU, Columbia, and Macaulay’s Honors program at Hunter.
What does the process entail? What are typical questions the application asks you? What are typical essay questions? How long should your essay be? Do all schools require an interview? How do colleges receive your transcript/SAT scores? Does your guidance counselor do it, or do you have to?

You typically apply to college in the around August-November of your senior year of high school. College applications are filled out online. You can access any of them you’d like. I’d recommend checking out the applications for the schools you are interested in and getting an idea of what they are looking for.

And no, most schools do not require an interview. Interviews are typically only required for honors programs and very competitive and selective majors. When you take the SAT/ACT you will pick which colleges you want the scores sent to. If you want it sent to more after, you can do that on the ACT/SAT website.

Your high school will fill out a recommendation form and send your high school transcripts for you. You may have to send in recommendation letters as well, and the people who write them will send them directly for you.

will this letter about lip piercings work?

Why I Should be Allowed to Get a Lip Ring

First off, I want you to realize that I am 16, seventeen in 6 months. I am a junior in high school. I know you know all of this, but I just wanted to point it out so that you keep it in the back of your mind, as you read this, that I am not a child.
Second, I want you to know that I have been thinking about this for months now and that this is not a random impulsive decision. Lip rings are a big responsibility, and I am more than ready to take that on.
Third, I want you to know that if you do not let me get a lip ring now, I will respect your decision, although I will disagree with it. I will get a lip ring once I turn 18, because I won’t need your permission, and I am sure that I will still want one. However, I really want you to support me and trust me enough to let me get one now, because I want to express my style in high school, and not wait until college
Also, lip rings are not permanent! When I decide that I don’t want it anymore, I can take it out, and the tiny hole heals over easily without leaving a scar. I have researched this and have seen many personal experiences that tell me that the hole is too small to cause any real tissue damage.
I am not asking you for a tattoo (which I have seen on many kids in my grade at school), or to dye my hair blue (which I have also seen countless times). I am asking you for a simple piece of jewelry. This is just like any earring except that it’s in a less common place. You always told me to be a leader and think for myself, and this is me doing so. I do not want to look like everyone else. I want to stand out and be different. However, lip rings are not so uncommon in teenagers that I would be thought down upon for having one. Also, I have seen many people at Etowah with facial piercings, including nose, eyebrows, tongue, and lip, so I know that the school does not have a rule against these things.
Unlike a tattoo or funky hair color, I can take out my lip ring (after the initial healing process of about two weeks) when I go to formal occasions or any place where it wouldn’t be considered “appropriate.”
I know that you only hesitate on saying yes because either 1) you are afraid of the safety and health issues, 2) you think I will regret doing this when I am older, or 3) you think it looks unattractive.
    To reply to those:
1)If you take me to a professional body piercing parlor, there is a VERY low risk of any complications. While lip rings are not as common as other piercings, they are still common enough that the professional has had much experience in doing them. Lip rings are one of the fastest healing piercings. They are much less likely to get infected than most other piercings, including ears. Plus, surprisingly, I have heard from friends and read that lip piercings do not hurt nearly as bad as you think they would. It feels about like biting your lip. There is the initial pinch, but then it is over with.
2)As I said, when I decide that I need to get rid of the lip ring, I can do so easily simply by taking it out and allowing the hole to heal. There are no scars and there really is nothing to regret. I have no regrets in my life so far because I think you should live every day to the fullest. There is no point in trying to please any one else or fit in with other people’s standards because they should not matter to you.
3)I’m sorry if you don’t think lip rings are attractive, but I love them. They are a great way to express my style without doing anything permanent or irremovable. I don’t understand how you could tell me to be a leader and then not let me get a simple piercing just because you don’t like how it looks.

Lastly, lip rings are not very expensive. At tattoo and body piercing parlors, they generally cost between $30 and $50. I am more than willing to do housework or other chores to earn this money and pay for it myself.
Thank you for considering this. I wrote this in a letter because I feel that if I just asked you, you wouldn’t give me time to explain all of this or let you know that this isn’t an impulsive decision on my part. I have thought about this a lot and I know that I would be much happier and more comfortable with myself as a person if I knew that how I looked was a reflection of my character and not just a clone of other teenage girls.

what should i say when i give it to my dad?

BTW i don't care if you don't like lip rings.. so go ahead and say so anyways, but you're just wasting your time.

    thanks<33

wow. I read the entire thing, and I think it sounds very mature, well thought out.
I hope your parents say yes, cause it sounds like you worked really hard on this letter.
    :D :D
